Tomatoes were the first genetically modified foods introduced internationally. In this regard, Academician Li Jiayang believes that the development of new technologies will inevitably involve risks. People's doubts can be understood. Academician Li Jiayang said that genetically modified crops have two important functions: biological enhancement and functional foods.
