A number of nanotechnology research and development centers, such as the National Nanoscience and Technology Center and the Key Laboratory of Nano Biotechnology, have been established. Shanghai, Xi'an, Dalian and other places have also established local nanotechnology R&D promotion centers. China also took the lead in releasing and implementing seven nanotechnology and product standards in the world in 2005, which has established China's leading position in nanotechnology and standards.
