Medium-Temperature Desizing Alpha-Amylase BAA-200 is a concentration bio-enzyme produced from submerged culture of Bacillus Subtilis var. by extraction and refining processes. It specifically caters to the desizing process in textile printing and dyeing industry.
 
BAA-200 can randomly cut the α-1, 4 glycosidic bond of starch molecules, hydrolyze the starch into shortchain dextrin of various length and a small amount of lowmolecular saccharides, thus rapidly decrease the viscosity of the gelatinous starch solution, so as to liquefy the starch. The robust amylase activity of BAA-200 can decompose the starch contained in the textiles into soluble polysaccharide, thus make it easy to be washed out.

Effect of  pH
Optimum pH 6.0, stable pH range 6.0~7.0, inactivated dramatically at pH below 5.0.
 
Effect of Temperature

Effective temperature range is 30~90°C; Optimum temperature range is 50~70°C; Stable temperature is below 60°C.  At a temperature of 70~90°C, the reaction speeds up with the temperature rises whilst the inactivation also speeds up. 
 
Effect of Calcium

The presence of calcium ion plays a protective role for the stability of enzyme activity of BAA-200. Its alpha-amylase activity may disappear completely if without calcium ion. 
 
Inhibitors

Copper, titanium and cobalt ions are moderate inhibitors for this product. Aluminum, lead and zinc ionsare strong inhibitors.
 
Usage Guidelines
 
BAA-200 is applicable to the desizing of starch slurry, and particularly fits to fabrics that are not high temperatureresistant, such as silk, chemical fiber blends, cotton and wools . Use of this product enables mild operating conditions, no pollution, no harmful effects to the fabrics, easy to wash out the sticky materials.

Storage

BAA-200 should be stored below 25ºC in its original packaging, sealed and unopened, sheltered from the sunlight. This enzyme has been formulated for optimal stability. However, enzymes gradually lose activity over time. Extended storage and/or adverse conditions such as higher temperature may lead to a higher dosage requirement.
 
Safety & Enzyme  Handling
Inhalation of enzyme dust and mists should be avoided. In case of contact with the skin or eyes, promptly rinse with water for at least 15 minutes. For detailed handling information, please refer to the appropriate Material Safety Data Sheet.
