Analysis of the reasons for the decline of laser cutting machine power

In use, when we find that the power of the laser Cutting Equipment is reduced, we should observe the laser color in the glass envelope of the laser generator, do the generator leak test, burn the thermal paper test and the instrument check, and judge the generator power.

First observe the color of the generator glass tube. If it is found to be pink even at high power, it can be inferred that the generator has failed. At this time, we should check the generator for leaks and burn the thermal paper, and record the inspection results. The gas leakage check of the generator is carried out under the operation of the operator, and the air leakage of the machine is self-checked. Under normal circumstances, the air leakage cannot be greater than 5 mbr/hour, and it is found that the air leakage reaches 54 mbr/hour to conclude that the generator has leaked. When doing thermal paper burning experiments, if the burned holes are not round and not burned through, it can be preliminarily determined that the power of the machine has been lowered and the laser transmission angle mirror is offset. If the inspection finds cracks in the glass tube of the laser generator, try to seal the crack with glass glue and check the gas leakage of the generator. If the air leakage is less than 5mBar per hour, it will meet the requirements. If the color of the generator glass tube sealed with glass glue becomes dark red, it can be judged that the cutting power is very low, which proves that the modification method is not preferable.

Perform the thermal paper burning experiment again and clean and maintain the 5 mirrors of the machine. With a special tool, spend a lot of time on beam centering. After the inspection is completed, if the color of the glass tube of the laser generator is normal, the laser power is detected by a special tool to be slightly lower than the normal level. The B-axis lens was replaced and the test power was completely normal.

For glass tube rupture, possible causes and preventive measures:

1. The air humidity is too high. If the generator cover is found to have drops of water; and there is a watermark on the wall of the cracked glass tube. High-power air conditioners and air dryers can be added to reduce the humidity of the air; high-temperature air with high humidity can also cause the glass to rupture.

2. The difference between the air pressure inside the glass tube and the outside pressure of the glass tube is large. If there is a difference in pressure between the inside of the glass tube and the outside of the glass tube, the filling pressure in the tube can be made consistent with the setting outside the tube to reduce the possibility of a pressure difference.

3. The aging or defects of the B-axis also affect the output of the laser power.

4. The mirror of the laser cannot be removed before the tool is aligned with the dedicated optical path (position of the five mirrors). If the mirror is not removed before replacing the glass tube, the power should be able to go up after the glass tube is replaced.

It is very important to control microbial activity in cutting fluid containers. Both bacteria and fungi can cause problems because they metabolize the components of the cutting fluid, resulting in the production of biofilm/mucus (large quantities of biofilm/mucus can exacerbate foaming problems and sticky surfaces) and secondary metabolites in the form of short-chain organic acids. The latter can result in a lower pH of the cutting fluid and an increased risk of corrosion. It is also important to note that high levels of bacteria and fungi can cause health problems for those operating the machines.



If the pH drops to less than 8.5, it may indicate bacterial growth in the cutting fluid. In such cases, we recommend measuring bacterial growth and replacing the cutting fluid if the test is positive.



Other signs of bacterial growth are a bad smell and fungal/bacterial film on top of the cutting fluid.
