Russian media tycoon Izyzkov recently revealed that he is organizing scientists to research a high-tech project of "Avatar," and plans to download brain thinking of large categories to robots within 10 years in order to "immortalize" human beings. He claims to have hired 100 scientists to study the project and is seeking more scientists to join.
Izkov said that the project is a road to "eternal life." But he admits that scientists face enormous challenges. "But I believe what everyone calls the 'American Dream'. If you put all your energy and time into a job, you can succeed."
Izkov thought that within 10 years, human consciousness could be "transplanted" to robots as a surgical operation. He hopes that without the need for surgery, people's minds can be "uploaded," and the human body will become a body, and ideas will exist in the robot "in the brain." The project was named after Cameron's film "Avatar."
Izkov said that the next goal of science is to create new bodies for humans. It should have a controllable perfect human brain - machine interaction platform, and human brain survival support system, so that the brain can still work after leaving the body. This system will initially be mainly applied to "disabled people and people who are about to die."
He believes that the third stage will be the creation of an artificial brain, which will then accept the uploading of human thinking. His ultimate goal is to upload human thinking to the holographic body so that not only can he pass through the wall, but also advance at the speed of light.
He indicated that he wanted to cooperate with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). DARPA revealed in the 2013 budget report a plan code-named "Avatar," and the Pentagon has invested $7 million in this project to develop robots that are remotely controlled by ideas. These robots are expected to replace soldiers on the battlefield in the future.
