Several characteristics of natural stone

Fire resistance

All kinds of stone are different, and some stones are chemically decomposed under the action of high temperature.

(1) Gypsum: Decomposes at temperatures greater than 107 °C.

(2) Limestone, marble: decomposes at greater than 910 °C.

(3) Granite: cracked at 600 ° C due to uneven heating of the constituent minerals.

2. Expansion and contraction

Stone is also thermal expansion and contraction, but if it is cooled after heating, its shrinkage can not return to its original volume, and some must remain a permanent expansion; the US arsenal has tested from 0 ° C to 100 ° C, and then to 0 ° C, The degree of increase in permanent expansion was measured to be 0.02-0.045%.

3. Frost resistance

At minus 20 degrees Celsius, freezing occurs, and the water expansion in the pores is 1/10 larger than the original volume. If the rock cannot resist the force generated by such expansion, it will be destroyed. Generally, if the water absorption rate is less than 0.5%, the frost resistance is not considered.

4. Compressive strength

The compressive strength of stone varies depending on factors such as mineral composition, crystal thickness, uniformity of cemented material, load area, load and angle of cleavage. If other conditions are the same, a dense material in which the crystal grains are fine and bonded to each other generally has a high strength. Dense volcanic rocks have no difference in compressive strength after drying and saturated water (water absorption is extremely low). If it is porous and water-resistant cemented rock, its drying and moisture intensity are significantly different.

There are two kinds of stone for architectural decoration: natural stone and artificial stone. It is mainly made of natural stone. It is a kind of high-grade decorative material. It is mainly used in the engineering with high decoration grade. The artificial stone belongs to the lower grade decoration material. It is only used in medium and low-grade interior decoration projects.

Natural stone refers to the general term for material extracted from natural rock mass and processed into block or plate material. The cumin stone used for architectural decoration mainly consists of granite and marble.

The so-called marble refers to sedimentary or metamorphic carbonate rock, including marble, dolomite, limestone, sandstone, shale and slate. For example, the famous Chinese white marble is the dolomite produced by Fangshan in Beijing, the marble in Yunnan is the marble in Dali County, and the famous Dandong green is the serpentine petrosilicate. Similarly, as various types of magmatic rocks for stone mining, such as granite, andesite, diabase, chlorite, gneiss, etc., it is called granite. For example, the white granite of Beijing Baihuyu is granite, Jinanqing is gabbro, and the black granite of Qingdao is diabase.

Artificial stone is a synthetic decorative material. According to the different binders used, it can be divided into organic artificial stone and inorganic artificial stone. According to the different production processes, it can be divided into four types: polyester artificial marble, composite artificial marble, silicate artificial marble and sintered artificial marble.

There is a kind of granite called Xiaolanbao, also known as Pingnan G654. Xiaolanbao is a newly developed stone product in the Luxia Development Zone of Pingnan County. The small blue sapphire material is also called “Blue Starlight”. Because of the god-like import of "trees hanging ice flowers", it has the famous name of "tree hanging ice flowers". It is mainly used for exterior walls, countertops, outdoor squares (fire boards). Is a good building decoration

Among the four artificial stone decorative materials, organic (polyester) is the most commonly used, and its physical and chemical properties are also the best.
