The 2013 training course on solar photovoltaic application technology in developing countries was launched on the 2nd in Lanzhou, Gansu, China. The training course lasts for 56 days and covers professional lectures, technical exchanges, economic and trade negotiations, internships and inspections for overseas students. The training program to jointly address the energy crisis attracted 19 officials and experts from 12 countries and regions including Ghana, Chile, Nepal, Nigeria, Myanmar, Jamaica, Cuba and Vietnam. They hope to help more people in their respective countries “get rid of the darkness†by learning and sharing China's advanced photovoltaic power generation technology.
Officials from the Nepalese Ministry of Energy said that Nepal’s energy is very scarce and only 46% of people have access to electricity. The lack of electricity has left most people still living in the dark. He hopes that this training will help them improve their knowledge of solar technology and benefit his country.
Xi Wenhua, director of the Gansu Institute of Natural Energy, said that China's various solar energy, wind energy technologies and products, both in quantity and quality, have reached or approached the international advanced level, and have mastered many solar and wind energy technologies suitable for developing countries. China is willing to share these technologies and experiences with developing countries.
