Abstract of the paper: Since the industrial production of titanium alloy in 1948, it has many advantages such as light weight, high strength, high and low temperature performance, strong corrosion resistance, etc., and therefore in the aerospace industry, biomedicine, and chemical and petroleum. In the industry, it has been rapidly promoted and applied, but because of the low thermal conductivity and the like, it is prone to burns during grinding and affects the surface quality of the workpiece. Therefore, the traditional grinding process uses a large amount of grinding fluid to reduce the grinding. Temperature, but the extensive use of grinding fluids poses a significant hazard to the environment and operator health, and increases the cost of grinding fluid discharge recycling. In order to solve the above problems, this paper developed a single-layer self-lubricating brazed cubic boron nitride (cBN) grinding wheel based on the idea of ​​“replacement of grinding fluid with solid lubricant”. The basic principle is to apply a solid lubricant to the surface of the grinding wheel, so that the lubricant forms a lubricating film between the abrasive particles and the workpiece, thereby reducing the friction coefficient between the abrasive particles and the surface of the workpiece, reducing friction, and reducing the grinding. The purpose of heat removal is to reduce the grinding temperature. In this paper, graphite is selected as a solid lubricating thorn. It is applied to the surface of brazed cBN grinding wheel by a suitable process to carry out the experimental research on grinding the titanium alloy workpiece. The grinding temperature of the titanium alloy processed by the grinding wheel under different cooling conditions is compared and analyzed. Exploring an effective method to improve the performance of dry-grinding titanium alloy by single-layer self-lubricating brazing cBN grinding wheel.
