Saint-Gobain has a new product: dynamic polishing sand

France Saint-Gobain Abrasives Co., Ltd. recently launched the Norton FiniumTM series of micro-fine sanding rolls for precision machining. The series is designed from the patented new upper resin system, two new substrates and a particle size color coding process. This combination gives the product a higher material removal rate and superior surface finish. This product is currently the most advanced abrasive abrasive series in the market. The products numbered Q351R and Q351S represent the rough (R) backsheet and smooth (S) backsheet; they are suitable for any processing requirements and equipment types. These new micro-fine sanding rolls can be used in power polishing units such as automobiles, trucks, marine, small motors and large engine manufacturing. The film sand roll is made of ultrafine abrasive particles with a particle size of 80-90 microns/μ or a linear/scalloped edge of 180-1000 particle size. In the production process, the abrasive grain screening requirements are very strict, and the microscopic size is difficult to distinguish by the naked eye. “In the production process, in order to prevent mistakes, we perform color coding technology on the granularity to distinguish and identify”, explains Saint-Gobain film product manager Mr. Alexandre Pecora.
