Compared to injection molding, extrusion blow molding products have the following advantages:
1. The cost of blow molding machines (especially blow molds) is low (when forming similar products, the cost of blow molding machines is about 1/3-1/2 of that of injection machines), and the production cost of products is also low.
2. In blow molding, the parison is formed by a machine head at a lower pressure and inflated at a low pressure (mostly 0.2-1.0 MN), so that the residual stress of the product is small, and it is resistant to stretching, impact, bending and The performance of various strains such as the environment is high and has good performance. In injection molding, the melt passes through the mold runner and gate at high pressure (15-140 yPa), which results in uneven stress distribution.
3. The relative molecular mass of blown grade plastics (such as PE) is much higher than that of injection grade plastics. Therefore, blow molded articles have high impact toughness and high environmental stress crack resistance, and are suitable for producing containers or vats for packaging or transporting detergents and chemical agents.
4. Since the blow mold is composed only of the female mold, the wall thickness of the product can be changed by simply adjusting the die gap or the extrusion condition, which is advantageous for a product which cannot accurately calculate the required wall thickness in advance. The cost of changing the wall thickness of the product by injection molding i is much higher.
5. Blow molding can produce products with small wall thickness, which cannot be produced by injection molding.
6. Blow molding can produce products with complex shapes, irregularities and monoliths. When injection molding is used, after two or more pieces are produced, they are combined by a snap fit, solvent teaching or ultrasonic welding.
However, the precision of blow molded articles is generally not as high as that of injection molded articles. The design steps for plastic blow moldings are good. The blow molding starts with the design. The blow molding design of plastic containers is the key to manufacturing competitive and high quality containers. It is a systematic and comprehensive surname engineering plan. That is, first consider the use of the function; then select the material to determine the blow molding method (especially pay attention to the parting, demoulding, exhausting, etc. of the blow molding). Finally, the structural dimensions and technical requirements of the blow mold are determined, and the craftability of the mold processing is also taken into account. The entire process is closely integrated with production costs and efficiency.
