On November 7th, Professor Tong Liyong from the University of Sydney, Australia, was invited by the School of Materials to visit the school and gave an academic report entitled “Lightweight Composite Materials and Structures Based on Biomimetic Multi-Level Structuresâ€. The report was hosted by Zou Wenjun, Dean of the School of Materials, and more than 200 students and teachers from the School of Materials and Mechanical Engineering listened to the report. After the report meeting, Professor Tong Liyong was cordially received by Zhao Yulin and conducted in-depth discussions on joint scientific research and student exchange training. During his time at the school, Professor Tong Liyong also visited Zhengzhou Siwei Special Materials Co., Ltd. accompanied by Professor Wu Haihong of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.
On the afternoon of November 8, Prof. Chen Bin and Professor Zhang Hengzhong, directors of the Shanghai Branch of the Beijing High Voltage Research Center, respectively, focused on “Nano Metal: Fine Crystal Weakening or Strengthening†and “New Physical and Chemical Properties of Nanomaterials under High Pressureâ€. The 4222 lecture hall brought two wonderful reports to the teachers and students of the School of Materials. Wang Liang, secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Materials, and more than 260 teachers, counselors, undergraduates and graduate students from various teaching and research sections attended the report. Zou Wenjun presided over the report.
After the meeting, Zhao Yulin met with Professor Chen Bin and Professor Zhang Hengzhong in the conference room of the office building. Liu Yawei, Director of the Personnel Department, Sun Dawei, Deputy Director, and relevant comrades of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office attended the meeting. Zhao Yulin introduced the history, discipline and faculty composition, development status and internationalization of the school to the two professors, especially the recent development of talent introduction and discipline construction in the school. I hope that the visits of the two professors can be for me. School teachers and students expand new research cooperation channels and learning opportunities.
On November 9, Professor Chen Bin and Professor Zhang Hengzhong visited the Key Laboratory of the School of Materials and exchanged views with the teachers and students of the College. Professor Chen Bin said that the material school has strong faculty, excellent research conditions, and students are serious and eager to learn, and they are deeply impressed. On behalf of the Shanghai Branch of the Beijing High Voltage Research Center, he expressed the hope that in the future, he will further strengthen cooperation with the School of Materials, select outstanding doctors from the Shanghai Branch to conduct research in the Materials College Laboratory, and welcome the research team and graduate students of the Materials Institute to participate in the High School in Shanghai. The Center's international research activities, the Shanghai Center is willing to provide all the conditions to support scientific research, and encourages undergraduates of the aspirational high-tech project to actively participate in the center's scientific summer camp.
