According to reports from Japan’s Kyodo News Agency, Japanese companies have jointly developed a future-type bus that uses solar power to generate electricity. The bus travels in Okayama City and runs 4 classes daily. The two companies said that installing solar cells on buses is the first time in the world.
A solar battery used to generate electricity is installed on the roof of the bus, and the amount of power generated is used to illuminate two-level interior lighting (LED). It is reported that because it can store electricity, it can still be continuously illuminated for about 9 hours without sunlight.
