Vegetable fertilization is stressful

Fertilizing and watering vegetables is a very simple matter. It seems that Li Zhi, a vegetable expert at the Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences, is not simple. Recently, in an interview with reporters, he introduced the fertilization technology of vegetables.

The base fertilizer must be decomposed. The base fertilizer is generally based on long-acting farmhouse organic fertilizers such as manure and compost. Apply to the soil before sowing or planting the vegetables to supply the growing needs of the vegetables. These farmyard manures not only contain a variety of elements required for vegetables, but also provide a large amount of organic matter in the soil, which can improve the soil well. “Farm fertilizer used as base fertilizer must be fully decomposed. If you want to apply fresh manure or not fully composted compost, you must apply it early to ensure that it is naturally decomposed in the soil before sowing or planting the vegetables. Otherwise, it will bring A lot of germs are harmful," Li Zhi reminded.

There are two types of base fertilizer application methods: comprehensive and partial. Planting root vegetables and spinach, leeks and other densely planted leafy vegetables and large application amount can spread the manure and compost evenly on the ground, and then it is convenient to plough into the soil. Pumpkin, eggplant, kale, broccoli and other crops with wide plant spacing, or less fertilizer, can be used for trenching between rows or digging holes between plants.

Topdressing should be flexible. Topdressing is mainly based on quick-acting fertilizers, such as human excrement, ammonium sulfate, compound fertilizer, and urea. After the vegetables have 3 to 4 true leaves or planted seedlings survived, they began to be applied. The number and dosage of topdressing should be determined by the specific conditions of the type of vegetables, growth period, climate, soil moisture and fertility. The smaller the vegetable plants, the thinner the fertilizer should be, the less the amount of application can be less, and the number of fertilizations increases with the growth of the plants. Fertile soil, strong vegetable growth, can be applied less, on the contrary, should be applied more. Generally, every 15-20 days of topdressing. Fast-growing vegetables, such as spinach and pakchoi, should be applied thinly and once every 7-10 days. In short, the topdressing should adopt the method of “first lightening and then thickening” and “less eating more meals”, and timely and appropriate amount of topdressing and multiple topdressing, not only to maintain fertility, to meet the nutritional needs of vegetable growth, but also to do Avoid excessive concentration and affect growth.

Different types of vegetables have different requirements for fertilizers. Leafy vegetables such as mustard and Chinese cabbage must be supplied with sufficient nitrogen fertilizer to grow rapidly. Beans, potatoes, etc. should be applied with more potassium fertilizer, which can improve the yield and quality. In addition to applying nitrogen fertilizer, tomatoes, eggplants, melons, etc. should be applied with phosphorus and potassium fertilizer to promote fruit growth, early maturity and quality.
